His crew showed up the day after I closed escrow and they went to work. Very trustworthy crew and I can tell Bashar was second to none when it came to his knowledge of structural engineering. One wall was load bearing and the other wall needed a support beam. The work they did was SO GOOD, it literally opened up our home and it looks amazing. There's actually an arch as part of the wall and they MATCHED the arch on one side to mimic the other, incredible. They finished prior to me moving in and cleaned up afterwards.

Probably the best decision I've made going with these guys. Became friends with the owner and will use him for everything demo related in the future.

Even the inspectors were impressed with the seamlessness of the work. The tile work they did is amazing and they took great pains to make sure the new flooring matched as closely as possible the preexisting flooring. They stuck to their timelines and stand by their work. They even came back to fix a few minor tweaks after project completion which is rare and very appreciated.

  I was in dire need of an engineer to spec a remodel we were contemplating for a new house -- but an engineer's feedback would determine whether we would buy... read more the house or not. Bashar understood the urgency and was willing to be flexible (more so than other engineers). We needed the house plans filed with the city -- he was very familiar with the process. We met at city hall -- he was on time! -- and within 10 minutes was able to get the information he needed. He turned around his review and his estimates very quickly. Moreover, he did not pull any punches. Where he felt my ideas were not practical he was very upfront about it. I decided to hire him as both engineer and contractor for a remodel that required blowing out walls. Bashar was extremely helpful. And he was very, very communicative -- I never had an issue getting in touch with him and he would always reply quickly. I ended up using his services to blow out a wall, re-floor our entire first floor, repaint the entire house including the kitchen cabinets (we separately checked his estimates and they were all very reasonable), replace the water heater, install a whole house water filter, re-do the lighting for the whole house, upgrade the ethernet cabling, and overhaul some of the electrical infrastructure. Moreover, while doing some of the work he discovered that one of the sheer walls was missing screws from the original construction and fixed it. Bashar threw in a lot of extra work at no cost. And he did not finish on time; he finished early! His foreman Hosny was fantastic -- he still does the odd job for us.

I did talk to him about smart-homing our house but decided that is not his strong suit (we went with someone else). One thing to understand about Bashar is that he is a straight-shooter -- he does not try to tell you want you want hear, but what you need to hear. He will disagree with you -- sometimes it is frustrating -- but I would rather have someone who is direct and upfront than someone who will just say anything to please you.

I am writing this 7 months after he finished -- sorry a bit lazy! -- but I can attest to his workmanship -- we have had no major issues. With some minor issues, he was responsive and sent someone over to make sure everything was OK. I would (and already have) recommend him to anyone doing a remodel.
